Example: Sleep-wake cycle and temperature

Ultradian Rhythms

Biological rhythms that occur more than once each day.

Example: Stages of sleep throughout the night

Infradian Rhythms

Biological rhythms that occur once a month or once a season.

Example: Women’s menstrual cycle
